about

Originally released on cassette in 1990, Saltwater Cowboy is the last album Alan recorded in the big city and features a strong commercial Country sound. The title track is a Moberg classic- a three minute retelling of the logger Red Nicholson teaching Alan how to play guitar as a young teen. Telling the story simply, the song still manages to reveal Alan the grown man looking back. Every song on the album tells a story of characters high and low, in the city and the country.
